Why the followers of Christopher Meloni & Mariska Hargitay go wild

The only crime committed here is drooling the fans.

On Saturday, August 21st, Christopher Meloni, 60, sent Law and Order: SVU fans into a frenzy after posting a hot behind-the-scenes photo of him and Mariska Hargitay, 57. Although it is not known when her picture was taken, one thing is clear: Chris set the internet on fire.

In the snapshot, the two look deep into each other’s eyes as they hugged so closely that their lips almost touched.

So what made Chris decide to bless the fans with the picture in the first place? On Friday, August 20th, a Twitter user wrote: “Can you imagine that one day @Chris_Meloni and @Mariska post a picture like this and pretend to kiss with the headline #Probe. It would be the end of us and the end of the internet. “

And that’s exactly what Chris did when he saw the crackling photo with the caption “#tried what @Mariska?”

The US is increasing Covid vaccine manufacturing to donate extra doses to the world

The United States is expanding Covid-19 vaccine manufacturing to donate more doses to countries that don’t have as much access to the life-saving syringes.

“We are now working to greatly expand the capacity so that we can donate hundreds and millions of doses to low- and middle-income countries,” said Dr. Anthony Fauci, medical advisor to President Joe Biden, in an interview on CNBC’s “Closing Bell” Thursday.

Scientists around the world, including World Health Organization officials, have condemned rich nations for giving booster vaccinations to fully vaccinated people while millions in other countries are unable to receive the vaccine.

Dr. Mike Ryan, director of the WHO’s Emergency Health Program, said wealthy nations who choose to give booster doses are handing out “extra life jackets” to those who already have one while drowning other people.

Fauci said the U.S. has given more than 120 million doses to 80 countries and donated $ 4 billion in resources to the vaccine exchange initiative coordinated by Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance. the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovation and the WHO.

“We do both,” said Fauci about the distribution of booster vaccinations and the aid for other countries. “We are very sensitive to the needs of developing countries for vaccine doses, but we believe we can do both.”

Concerns about the Delta variant continue to preoccupy many Americans as health systems in states with high infection rates struggle to keep pace with demand for hospital beds. A further acceleration of cases in the US could be avoided if more people were vaccinated, Fauci said.

“We can do a lot about it,” said Fauci, noting that 90 million people in the US are eligible for vaccines but still haven’t been vaccinated. “We want to vaccinate the unvaccinated as much as possible.”

He said it was difficult to say when the current delta eruption will peak.

“It’s very difficult to predict. We saw in the UK that after several weeks of high acceleration, things had turned around,” said Fauci.

Once delta infections slow down, Covid could become an endemic disease that remains at low levels in the population, like the flu, although Covid is much more deadly. Fauci said he doubts Covid – unlike the flu, which requires annual vaccinations – needs recurring boosters to maintain a high level of protection.

“I don’t think that will be the case. I think this third shot will take us far,” said Fauci.

Correction: This article has been updated to reflect that the COVAX vaccine exchange initiative is coordinated by Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance; the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovation and the WHO.

Zoe Kravitz & Channing Tatum spark courting rumors after being noticed collectively in New York Metropolis

Roommates, if recent photos are any clue, it seems that Zoe Kravitz and Channing Tatum might be Hollywood’s newest “It Couple” – and fans have got themselves into a frenzy envisioning the possibilities. Zoe Kravitz and Channing Tatum were photographed together in New York City as they snuggled up for a bike ride around town.

Earlier this week, Hollywood stars Zoe Kravitz, 32, and Channing Tatum, 41, were spotted together in NYC and spread across social media and rumors that the two may be together.

In the photo that quickly circulated online, Channing can be seen riding a bike through the city streets while Zoe sits behind him with her arms around his neck.

According to reports, Zoe and Channing initially “happily” walked New York’s East Village and “smiled and laughed” the whole time. Shortly after their walk, they rode their bikes together. However, while they were described as “very relaxed” and “very friendly,” sources said there was no PDA between them.

It should also be mentioned that Zoe Kravitz and Channing Tatum are currently working together on the film “P *** y Island”, which she is directing and co-wrote.

The film is said to be about an LA cocktail waitress named Frida who has a romantic interest in a philanthropist and tech mogul named Slater King (played by Channing). The two eventually enter into a relationship and Frida is about to have an intimate get-together on his private island. Then she begins to feel that there is “more on this island that catches the eye. … Something terrifying. “

We just have to wait and see if they just work together or develop something more.

Bitcoin approached $ 50,000 as it continues to recover after months of weakness

The world’s largest digital currency by market value rose to $ 49,821 on Saturday afternoon in New York, according to Coinbase. It traded at 10 a.m. ET on Sunday at a price of $ 48,876.

The rebound comes after Bitcoin has been trading at a price between around $ 30,000 and $ 40,000 in recent months. It had fallen from a record high of nearly $ 65,000 in mid-April.

Ether, the coin connected to the Ethereum blockchain network, also rose recently, reaching $ 3,295 early Saturday, according to Coinbase.

According to Chainalysis, a blockchain data company, the global acceptance of cryptocurrencies among retail investors has increased significantly in the past year. Worldwide acceptance of crypto has increased by around 881% in the last year.

According to data from CoinGecko.com, the global cryptocurrency market cap was $ 2.16 trillion on Sunday and the cryptocurrency trading volume was $ 109 billion on the last day.

In passing an infrastructure invoice, Democrats should redefine fiscal accountability to satisfy local weather change and the wants of People

Earlier this month, Senate Democrats alone, without the support of their Republican counterparts, pushed forward to pass a $ 3.5 trillion budget resolution.

This resolution is of course the necessary precursor for the Senate Democrats to be in a position to approve a historically massive and urgently needed investment in the country’s human and environmentally friendly infrastructure on their own. While the details of the comprehensive economic package that the Democrats have pondered are far from being finalized, let alone agreed by the required number of Democrats in Congress, we have heard that the plans include expanding the social safety net, helping families provide childcare, provide significant funding to combat climate change, and much more.

All of these elements have vociferously opposed Republicans in Congress, as evidenced by their total absence from the bipartisan infrastructure bill approved by the Senate earlier this month.

Of course, the Republican opposition is not the only obstacle standing in the way of Congress realizing President Joe Biden’s ambitious hopes for signature politics. More moderate Democrats, most clearly Senators Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ), have spoken out against the $ 3.5 million price, which was already a compromise for the progressive Democrats.

These so-called “moderate” voices tend to repeat the mantras of so-called “financially conservative” Republicans, who continue to complain about what they see as excessive spending.

Manchin’s concern, made the same day that Senate Democrats passed the budgetary decision, exemplifies this supposedly responsible or conservative position. Manchin said in a statement at the time:

“Given the current state of economic recovery, it is simply irresponsible to continue spending at levels better suited to responding to a Great Depression or a Great Recession – not an economy poised to overheat.”

While Manchin’s rhetoric of “irresponsibility” is typical and even stale, it is still firmly entrenched and represents exactly the kind of language that Democrats must use in a campaign to sway the hearts and minds of Americans in order to promote economic and political life human interests.

Has some people overlooked the fact that millions of Americans are still in dire straits, facing housing and food insecurity, unaffordable wages, lack of access to quality health care, and more?

Have some people, like so many supposedly fiscal conservatives who complain of excessive spending, completely ignored the fact that a greater threat to our economic prosperity and survival is an overheated environment?

Take, for example, the fact that the Colorado River is drying up at an alarming rate, posing a tremendous and ominous threat to a water supply that not only supports large numbers of lives but is vital to the country’s economy and livelihood . Over the past two decades, the river has shrunk by 20% compared to the 20th century average, a situation mainly due to the man-made climate crisis.

According to CNN:

Today, this river system supplies 40 million people in seven western states and Mexico, and irrigates more than 5 million acres of farmland on its way to Mexico and the Gulf of California.

Las Vegas depends on the river for 90% of its water supply, Tucson for 82% and San Diego for around 66%. In Los Angeles, Phoenix and Denver, too, large parts of the water come from the river, and experts believe that these booming metropolises would not have been possible without its supply.

But a crisis is unfolding and farmers, scientists, water managers and policymakers across the Southwest are increasingly alarmed.

So let’s ask ourselves a fundamental question about fiscal responsibility and climate change:

What is Fiscally Irresponsible? to not Spend money to invest in combating climate change and building greener infrastructure that anticipates the damage climate change will do to the nation, or to find means to mitigate damage and make the world a habitable and greener world for building the future foundation of our life ?:

We often hear Republicans and Democrats like Manchin calling themselves “fiscal conservative” complaining of excessive spending, and often arguing that we should approach the federal budget the way families do their household budgets.

They seem to imply that families balance their budgets regardless of their needs for food, health care, education, a healthy home environment, etc.

We have to point out once and for all how ridiculous this is.

Many parents pull their credit cards out or go into debt to pay for their children’s medical care and education – and most certainly to feed their children. They don’t sit around – if they can access funds, even if it means they are going into debt – debating whether to fill this child’s den, get cancer treatment, heat their homes, or feed their families.

For most of us in family life, being responsible for tax purposes means above all meeting the needs of the family in the best possible way and with all necessary means.

And we know that not caring for our family’s health needs will cost more later, just as we know it will cost us exponentially more in the future if we don’t address our crumbling infrastructure and the effects of climate change.

For example, we know that evicting families, and most importantly, neglecting housing needs in the middle of a pandemic will only exacerbate the public health crisis and cost us more in the long run.

One of the main challenges for the Democrats, which, if mastered, could bear much fruit in advocacy, is therefore to redefine “financial responsibility” and “conservatism”.

The republican ideology “preserves” nothing. It ushers in the destruction of our world on which the foundation of our life and survival depends.

What Republicans call “socialism” doesn’t give away free things; it is a wise investment in the short and long term.

Infections and hospital admissions in Washington state have hit file ranges

Covid-19 transmissions and hospitalizations in Washington state are at all-time highs, according to the state’s Department of Health.

On July 8, Washington recorded a Covid infection prevalence of 1 in 588 residents. Just one month later, on August 6, that number almost quadrupled to a Covid infection prevalence of 1 in 156 residents, the department said on Thursday. The latest numbers exceeded those of the state’s third wave of Covid infections in the winter of 2020.

According to a CNBC analysis of data from Johns Hopkins University, Washington state reports a seven-day average of 38.5 daily new cases per 100,000 population, ranking 22nd among all states.

Four counties had 14-day new infection rates of 500 per 100,000 Washington residents and five counties had rates of 300 to 500 per 100,000 residents. Sixteen counties had rates from 200 to 300 and 12 counties had rates from 100 to 200. The delta variant accounts for 98% of the cases in the state.

Hospital admissions in the state also rose, with a seven-day moving average of 29 hospital admissions for Covid on June 16. The number remained relatively low through July 8, but tripled by August 6 to a seven-day moving average of 96 hospital admissions for Covid symptoms. The state found that hospital admissions for people between the ages of 20 and 30 have increased, a trend seen in hospitals across the country as most older Americans were vaccinated.

Admissions to state hospitals for the unvaccinated and over 65s are six times higher than for those who are fully vaccinated. In people aged 16 to 64, unvaccinated people are ten times more likely to be hospitalized than their vaccinated counterparts. “If the entire population were to experience the hospitalization rates currently observed in unvaccinated people, the hospital system would be completely overwhelmed,” the state health department said in a statement.

Death rates have been down since Jan.

Immunity to prior infection in the state is only 15.5%, which would leave 84.5% of Washington residents unprotected if they did not have access to Covid-19 vaccines. According to the Ministry of Health, by August 16, 71.5% of the population aged 12 and over had received at least one dose of a Covid vaccine.

In the nationwide population, immunity to previous infections and vaccinations is 54.7%, an increase of only 2.8% since July 6.

“It is imperative to realize that literally any of us or our loved ones could be in need of hospital treatment in the near future,” said Acting State Science Director Dr. Scott Lindquist. “To ensure that care is available when needed, our hospitals are currently counting on each of us to be masked and vaccinated.”

Sha’Carri Richardson provides a fiery post-race interview after ending final in opposition to the Jamaican Olympic crew: “Depend me out if you’d like”

Sha’Carri Richardson made a return to track and field on Saturday, playing against the Jamaican Olympic team that won the Tokyo Olympics.

For the first time since her marijuana ban – which resulted in her missing out on the Olympics – Sha’Carris’ highly anticipated return was disappointed after finishing last in the Nike Prefontaine Classic Women’s 100m had come to the goal.

Jamaican gold medalist Elaine Sherah-Thompson took first place and set a personal best in the race, while her fellow Jamaican Olympic teammates finished second and third.

When the Jamaican Olympic team swept again, reporters focused on Sha’Carri, who gave a post-race interview after finishing ninth.

She celebrated her own return to the sport and did not express her loss.

“It’s been a great return to the sport,” said Sha’Carri Richardson. “I wanted to be able to come and perform for a month and deal with everything I was dealing with. I’m not mad at myself at all. This was a race. I’m not ready.”

Then Sha’Carri turned to her critics.

“You know what I’m capable of. Count me out if you want, ”she said. “Say anything you want because I’m here to stay. I’m not ready. I’m the sixth fastest woman in this game ever! And no one can ever take that away from me. Congratulations to the winners. Congratulations to the winners, but they’re not done with me yet. “

You can watch the race and Sha’Carris interview after the race below:

Shortly after the race, Sha’Carri started trending on social media. Some celebrities celebrated the victories of the Jamaican sprinters while others shared words of encouragement for Sha’Carri.

With Sha’Carri still on trend, Prefontaine Classic officials reported that she had retired from the 200-meter race that day.

Juli 2018 vorstellt.

We Build the Wall” betrogen hatte.

‘I dwell on $47 a day — right here’s how I spend my time’

Before Covid hit in March last year, I was making a decent income of about $4,000 per month as a freelance video producer. But as the pandemic intensified, those gig earnings quickly dwindled to $700.

Due to all the uncertainty about the future, I found myself sleeping on a futon at my sister’s house in New Jersey. I felt restless and missed all the traveling I used to do for work.

But a few months later, my prayers were answered: Croatia announced that it would start offering a one-year residence permit to digital nomads (anyone outside of the European Union working remotely) in January 2021.

I had visited Croatia before and was utterly captivated by the country, so I decided to apply.

Getting Croatia’s digital nomad residence permit

I did a lot of prep work between April and December before getting approved for the permit.

The application processing fee was $100, and to qualify, I needed to have a monthly income of at least $2,750. So throughout the following months, I aggressively built a recurring income stream from freelance gigs (video producing and copywriting) through Upwork.

By December, I was back to making around $4,000 per month. I was also an obsessive saver and rarely spent my earnings. So with the $76,000 I had in my savings account, I felt financially secure enough to live abroad.

In addition to the income requirement, I needed to show proof of international health insurance (which I got through a U.S.-based travel insurance company called Seven Corners), obtain an FBI background check and provide an address I’d be staying at.

I spend much less in Croatia than in the U.S.

I currently live in Split, Croatia’s second-largest city, located on the eastern shore of the Adriatic Sea.

The views are gorgeous, and the cost of living is much cheaper compared to most major U.S. cities. The average rent for a one-bedroom in Jersey City, for example, is $2,779 (not including utilities), according to rental listing website RentCafe.

I spend an average of $47 a day. Here’s a breakdown (as of June 2021):

  • Rent and utilities: $540
  • Health insurance: $65
  • Food (groceries, eating out and drinks): $608
  • Subscriptions: $14
  • Phone: $12

How I spend my days

As soon as my alarm goes off at 6:30 a.m., I’ll make some Turkish coffee and have a simple breakfast — usually some eggs, vegetables, cheese and toasted bread.

Then I dive straight into my freelance projects. I try to put in about eight hours of work on weekdays. Since most of my clients are based in the U.S., I’ll schedule work calls on Eastern or Pacific Standard Time.

If I feel like eating out for lunch ($10 to $14, including tip), there are several places within walking distance. I love trips to the bakery for a tasty burek, a savory pastry typically filled with meat or cheese ($2 to $3).

A cheese burek and a double espresso at a café in Split costs around $5.

A nice dinner on the coast will include lots of seafood dishes like tuna, octopus and squid ink risotto ($18 to $30, including drinks and tip).

I’m a pretty social person, and I’ve met a lot of great people in Split — both locals and other expats. On weekends, I could spend hours having meaningful conversations with friends over $2 espressos.

From my apartment, I’m a three-minute walk to the famed ruins of Diocletian’s Palace. Built at the turn of the fourth century and considered the heart of the city, the streets of this UNESCO World Heritage Site have been worn smooth by pedestrians.

I’m also six minutes from the Riva, a waterfront promenade filled with cafés, bars restaurants and shops.

At 35, traveling has always been an essential part of my life. Since arriving in Croatia, I’ve taken a number of trips to see more of this endlessly beautiful country.

A few places I’ve been to: Zagreb (where I lived for a few months), Rijeka, Zadar, and the islands of Hvar and Brač. Most recently, I took a two-hour bus ride ($28 for a round trip) to Zaton.

The pace of life in Croatia is dramatically different — and much more my speed — than in New Jersey. When you combine that with the affordability, friendly people, fun activities and low crime rates, there isn’t much to complain about.

Continuing the nomadic life

One of the downsides of working and living abroad is missing and being far from my family and friends, so I’m hoping to take a trip back home at some point.

One of Split’s most iconic attractions is the Cathedral of St. Domnius — filled with murals, carved altars and a steep bell tower.

While Croatia will forever hold a place in my heart, several other countries, including Georgia and Portugal, also offer digital nomad visas. Once my permit here expires in March 2022, I plan to take advantages of those opportunities and continue the nomadic life for as long as I can.

The freedom to work from anywhere and chart your own course is a bit addictive, and the spontaneity of it is a big part of what brings me joy.
