Trump provides the coronavirus vaccine first to individuals who work close to him

Top White House employees working near Donald Trump will be some of the first to receive the coronavirus vaccine.

The New York Times reported:

White House staff, who work closely with President Trump, have been told that they are due to receive injections of the coronavirus vaccine soon, at a time when the first doses of the vaccine will only be distributed to high-risk health care workers on two Sources familiar with the distribution plans.

….

It is not clear how many doses will be allocated to the White House or how many will be needed. While many Trump officials said they were dying to get the vaccine and would take it if offered, others said they feared it would send the wrong message by making it look like Trump employees are in charge hop to protect a president who had the virus and bragged about being “immune” now.

The Trump administration has five weeks left, and a group of people who consistently ignored health guidelines and caused several super-spreader events don’t deserve to be rewarded for their negligence and recklessness by giving vaccinations to the jump to the front line. The coronavirus vaccine is said to first go to health care workers at risk. Many states receive less than 1% of the doses they need.

The vaccine shortage for vital workers who risk their lives every day is a growing problem, but Trump is so concerned he will get COVID again that he is vaccinating the people who work near him first. So much for herd immunity.

Donald Trump is also facing the needs of the American people to the bitter end.
