The media named Trump a presidential candidate to bomb Syria, however blew Biden’s approval ranking for leaving Afghanistan

Brian Williams on MSNBC seemed intrigued by the images of the Pentagon attacks. He used the word “beautiful” three times and alluded to a text by Leonard Cohen – “I am guided by the beauty of our weapons” – with no apparent irony.

Biden received the opposite treatment for ending the war in Afghanistan.

Here are just a selection of reporters from some of the same mainstream media talking about the withdrawal from Afghanistan through New York Magazine:

Declan Walsh, the New York Times Africa chief correspondent (a reporting position, not an expression) tweeted shortly before the Taliban’s final victory: “Jalalabad is gone, only Kabul is gone. For those who lamented “perpetual wars” – is the phrase more than a comforting excuse for epic failures of politics and imagination? – this is what the end looks like. ”

Meanwhile, Richard Engel tweeted on Friday: “Biden says the US is in constant contact with the Taliban to get a safe passage to the airport. So the US is asking the former enemy, the Taliban, to please allow us to get our people out while they are taking the country. ”

At the same time, CNN’s senior foreign correspondent Clarissa Ward felt it appropriate to present her own pessimistic suspicions about the Biden administration future Performance as an established fact, Reporting Friday, “I’m sitting here for 12 hours [Kabul] Airport, 8 hours at the airfield and I didn’t see a single US plane take off. How are you going to evacuate 50,000 people in the next two weeks? It just can’t happen. “

The mainstream media love war

The corporate media and the DC establishment love a good war. The mainstream media are all owned by big corporations, and those corporations make a lot of money when America is at war.,

Corporations themselves love wars because they are easy to cover in the post-Vietnam era.

There is no longer any breakthrough journalism asking the difficult questions.

Since the first Gulf War, the media has enjoyed showing images of US military power while waving flags and singing USA. The coverage is simple and very, very profitable.

No matter how much the American people wanted out of Afghanistan, the mainstream media would cast the American withdrawal in the most negative possible light.

The relentlessly negative coverage of the withdrawal, which is not to say that problems should be ignored, has lost its relation to reality and the classic self-interest of the corporate media.

Americans are mad at their hypocritical media

A failed Republican president has been hailed as a hero for a symbolic bombing mission depicting Trump’s mission to Syria, while Biden is considered the villain for rescuing hundreds of thousands of Afghans from the Taliban.

The media is quick to forget about Afghanistan, but their hypocrisy in the way Trump and Biden have been treated is worthy of American anger and proof of why they should not be trusted.
