Senator Raphael Warnock has simply mobilized a military of patriots in opposition to the repression of GOP voters

Senator Raphael Warnock (D-GA) organized the same patriots who stood up to beat Trump with persuasive remarks on suppressing voters against Rachel Maddow.

Warnock said on the Rachel Maddow Show:

If you believe this is happening in Georgia, you are misunderstanding the moment we are living in. If you think this is happening to black voters, you still don’t understand it very clearly. This is a crucial moment for American democracy. If this happens in the state capital in Georgia, it won’t be long before visiting a state capital near you. Because while there is the reverberation of race, there is an ongoing struggle in America, the way poor people, young people are marginalized in various ways, and the real feeling that it is something much deeper .

It’s about whether we are who we say we are. Either we are a democracy or we are not. We either believe in a person’s idea, a voice, or we don’t. Either I am a citizen or I am not. These are politicians who are trying to stay in power. That’s what it is. It’s a power struggle. And they decided to stay in power no matter what, even if it costs democracy itself, and the only people who can ultimately correct this are the people themselves. So we all have to stand up and say no to that. History is watching us and our children are counting on us.

Sen. Warnock is correct. The events in Georgia, Iowa, Arizona, and other states around the country are not about electoral law. It is an attack on democracy that is just as open and bold as the terrorist attack on the Capitol.

This time the terrorists are not carrying Trump flags. They are elected officials with an (R) next to their name.

Sen. Warnock is a force and a mobilizing force to preserve our democracy. Over 80 million patriots came together in November to defeat Donald Trump. The same coalition reform in even greater numbers to stop the Republican legislative assault on democracy.
