The count resumed around 8 p.m. Wednesday after a woman who was part of the invaders was shot dead by Capitol Police during the riot and three other people died from medical emergencies.

The leaders of the Senate Republican and Democratic Assemblies, as they resumed proceedings, swore that Congress would approve Biden’s election “tonight.”

During the night, the two houses of Congress met separately to discuss and then vote on Republican objections to Biden voters from Arizona and then Pennsylvania.

“The climate crisis is not coming. It is here now,” said Michelle Deatrick, founder of the DNC Council on Environment and Climate Crisis, in a statement.

“President-elect Biden and the administration he is building understand this and are ready to act,” Deatrick said. “And now, thanks to the great work of so many people on the ground in Georgia, the path to sensible and necessary solutions to this crisis is now much easier.”

The Sacramento Police Department said in a tweet that 11 people were arrested for illegally possessing pepper spray and that there were some physical fights. However, the protesters have broken up and a large police presence will remain in the area all night.

Speaker Pelosi shouldn’t wait for Vice President Pence to answer. The spokesman must immediately initiate an impeachment vote against Donald Trump. The security of the nation is at stake. There is a bipartisan consensus that Trump cannot rule and that the nation is not safe if he stays in power one more day.

The country’s largest flight attendant unions on Wednesday raised security concerns over politically motivated flight disruptions after a pro-Trump mob stormed the Capitol and demanded that the presidential election results be overturned.

The head of the National Association of Manufacturers, a group of 14,000 companies in the US, on Wednesday called on Vice President Mike Pence to “think seriously” about using the 25th amendment to the constitution to get President Donald Trump out of office remove.

The 25th amendment states that the vice-president can become acting president if he and a majority in the cabinet declare that the president can no longer hold office. However, if the President denies this statement, it will take two-thirds of the House and Senate to override and remove it.

Two US Democratic officials were working on a letter from Vice President Mike Pence on Wednesday asking them to appeal the change, according to NBC News.

The trade group condemned clashes in Washington that interrupted a congressional meeting to count the results of the electoral college and officially proclaim Joe Biden president. The events on Wednesday are “not the vision of America that the manufacturers believe in”.

The statement came as the Business Roundtable and executives like Citi CEO Michael Corbat and Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff condemned the actions.
