Marsai Martin refuses to spotlight black trauma in her future initiatives

Marsai Martin reaches and continues to reach new heights at the age of 16. She has just taken home two NAACP Image Awards for her work on “Black-ish” and is just a reminder that she is the world record holder for the youngest Hollywood executive producer, her film “Little”.

What’s next for this smart young woman? Well, we can tell you one thing that won’t be featured in your future projects – Black Pain.

In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Marsai discussed the rules around her office and when it comes to pitching, she doesn’t have a “black pain” rule.

“I don’t do black pain. If it’s black pain, I don’t do it because there are so many films and projects about it, so I’m not who I am, ”Marsai said in an interview. “I want to make sure it’s diverse and real in its own way.”

Marsai continued, “I know a lot of people don’t like the word ‘authentic’, but I love real stories that people can resonate with, even if it doesn’t resonate with you personally, but you know a friend to be with deals that or families. ”

Marsai added that she loves a good act because every time it makes me just tell something real and something to watch, tell your child’s kids about it and only have those moments because I mean me love the old school stuff. ”

Describing herself as an old soul, she admits that her grandma has had an impact on the films she has seen.

“Having something where my child’s kids can see something and still love it is something I want to do,” Marsai said.
