There’s a new Law & Order spin-off on the horizon.
Just as the Elliott Stablers fans are recovering (Christopher Meloni) Triumphant return on the highly anticipated Law & Order: Organized Crime. Viewers can now look forward to another spin-off – and this time it’s all about defense.
Famous creator and producer Dick Wolf is Extension of the Law & Order brand to include NBC’s standard Order of Law & Order: For the Defense. According to NBC, the series will “take an unbiased look at a criminal defense firm,” with an emphasis on defense lawyers and the justice system as a whole. Each week will focus on a “contemporary mortality story” in the trial.
CSI: Miami creators Carol Mendelsohn will be billed as showrunner and executive producer together with Wolf, Arthur Forney, Julie Weitz and Peter Jankowski.
“This new show is exciting for me personally,” said Wolf in the May 3 announcement. “We’ve spent the last 30 years on shows that have played offensively. Now it’s going to be great to play defense and doing it with Carol is an honor and an opportunity for both of us to do television, which has never been done before was made previously. ”
