Jen Psaki sees via Donald Trump

Urging people not to take Trump’s bait, Jen Psaki accused the former president of trying to stir up outrage against Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.

Video:

Psaki said on MSNBC:

For a week we’ve been hearing that the Manhattan Attorney’s Office may be filing charges against Donald Trump, and yesterday Trump himself chimed in in a tirade in all caps on his social media page Truth Social. The former president said he would be arrested next Tuesday. Even more sinisterly, he encouraged his supporters to cite protest. And take back our nation, and then he doubled down with another post with the quote: protest, protest, protest. If this sounds familiar to you, it really should. It’s eerily similar to the language trump used in the days leading up to January 6th, and we all know how that ended.

For that reason, it’s important to be extra vigilant about what his words might do, but it’s also important not to take Trump’s bait here. He clearly wants to add to the drama, that’s the whole point, truth is his campaign has denied he received any advance notice from prosecutors of Tuesday’s arrest. At the moment it doesn’t seem like he knows any more than we do.

We should also be clear about what exactly Donald Trump is trying to do here. As his legal troubles mount, his goal is to stir up outrage against the Manhattan Attorney’s Office, and so far he’s been helped by a number of his allies, from Marjorie Taylor Greene to House Speaker Kevin McCarthy to his former Vice President Mike Pence Grips on, just like Donald Trump wants.

Trump wants to do whatever is necessary to avoid criminal charges. If that means launching a campaign to pressure District Attorney Alvin Bragg, he will. When it comes to inciting a violent attack, the former president has already proven that he has no problem with violence against others.

The media ran with Trump’s claim that he would be arrested Tuesday without considering that the failed ex-president is a liar. They once again allowed themselves to be manipulated by Trump to escalate the drama and pressure the nation.

With witnesses still being heard in court today, Trump is unlikely to be charged tomorrow.

Jen Psaki sees through Trump, and her insight shows how Biden was able to beat him in 2020. There seem to be two rules when it comes to Trump. Never take anything he says at face value and play on his endless need for drama.
