Psaki was asked about Cotton’s allegation that teachers influence the CDC in reopening schools.

She replied, “First of all, that’s wrong. Let’s take a step back and talk about how CDC works. It has been a longstanding best practice for CDC to work with organizations and groups that will be affected by the agency’s instructions. It doesn’t mean they take everything they want, or even a percentage of what they want. It is important to understand the implementation components. They do this to ensure that recommendations are workable and that the safety and well-being of the individuals whom the guidelines are intended to protect are appropriate. CDC participated in the pandemic with around 50 frontline stakeholders and has the perspective required for the guidelines. “

The value of a press secretary standing on camera exposing false statements by elected Republicans cannot be overstated.

It is the height of the hypocrisy that Cotton would make claims that the CDC was manipulating unionized teachers, when it was the previous Republican administration that endangered and likely killed Americans through its political interference and bullying of the CDC Weaken guidelines.

The Brady Briefing Room has become the place where Republican lies die.

With her consistent commitment to honesty and fact, Jen Psaki is restoring confidence in the White House’s communications with the American people.
