Roommate, LeBron James has always been very vocal about advocating black rights and police brutality – but apparently Donald Trump wishes he’d just stick to basketball. Still banned from all social media, Donald Trump recently released a statement beating LeBron James for his “racial abuse”.
Trump’s statement calling LeBron James read:
“LeBron James should focus on basketball rather than directing the destruction of the NBA, which has just recorded by far the lowest television ratings in the league’s long and distinguished history. His racist abuse is divisive, angry, insulting and degrading. He may be a great basketball player, but he’s not doing anything to bring our country together! “
Trump was referring to a post by LeBron James about officer Nicholas Reardon who fatally shot Ma’Khia Bryant four times in the chest earlier this week. LeBron wrote, “YOU ARE NEXT RESPONSIBILITY” along with a photo of Reardon.
After receiving backlash from several Republicans, he deleted the tweet and instead posted more thoughts on police accountability.
“I’m bloody tired of seeing black people killed by the police. I took the tweet down because it’s being used to create more hate – it’s not about an officer. It’s about the whole system and they always use our words to create more racism. I’m so desperate for more RESPONSIBILITY, ”he wrote.
