50 Cent, LaLa Anthony, and Santa Sierra crew as much as create Starz sequence about Cyntoia Brown’s life

Roommate, at this point we might as well rename 50 Cent as Curtis ‘Executive Produces Everythanng’ Jackson! This time around, 50 Cent has teamed up with LaLa Anthony and Santa Sierra to turn the story of Cyntoia Brown-Long into a series called “The Fall of Cyntoia Brown”. Deadline reported that the project will be a limited drama series based on Cyntoia’s book “Free Cyntoia: My Search for Salvation in the American Prison System”.

The series will detail Cyntoia’s life by narrating how she was sexually abused by her boyfriend, tried as an adult, and sentenced to life for “aggravated robbery and first degree murder”.

Lala will be executive producer alongside 50 Cent while Santa will act as executive producer and write the series. Cyntoia will be offering advice on the series with her husband, Jamie Long. The project is already in development at Starz.

Cyntoia received massive online support, including from celebrities like LaLa, Kim Kardashian, and LeBron James, after her story was shared on social media platforms. She had been given a life sentence for killing a man named Johnny Allen when she was 16, Oprah Daily reported. She eventually served 15 years of that sentence before being granted pardon and was released in August 2019.

She is currently an advocate for sex trafficking victims and criminal justice reforms. Cyntoia married her current husband, Jamie Long, in 2019 after the two began exchanging letters in 2017 while she was still incarcerated.

Deadline announced that Lala actually introduced the series to 50 Cent G-Unit Film & Television and that it is being developed under his contract with Starz. The company launched an initiative called #TakeTheLead in the hope “to deepen its existing commitment to storytelling by, about, and for women and underrepresented audiences”. The story of Cyntoia will be part of this initiative.

“We are honored to be entrusted with the story of Cyntoia, which sheds light on the injustice of a system that tried and condemned a vulnerable minor as an adult when she herself was a victim of sex trafficking,” said Christina Davis, the president the original programming for Starz.
