Meghan Markle breaks her silence on Queen Elizabeth II’s demise

Megan Markle honors Queen Elizabeth the second’s legacy.

A month after the death of the royal matriarch aged 96, the Duchess of Sussex shares how she and her husband are Prince Harry mourn her death.

“There was so much love and support,” Meghan, who was by Harry’s side at the Queen’s funeral, told Variety in her Oct. 19 cover story interview. “I’m really grateful that I was able to be with my husband to support him, especially during this time.”

“What’s so beautiful is looking at the legacy his grandmother was able to leave behind on so many fronts,” she continued. “In terms of female leadership, she’s certainly the most shining example of what that looks like. I am deeply grateful that I was able to spend time with her and get to know her.

While Meghan shared that it had been “a complicated time”, following the Queen’s death she noted that Harry “always the optimist” said she was now reunited with her late husband. Prince Philipwho passed away in April 2021.
