The beloved Netflix trilogy The Kissing Booth has helped boost the careers of breakout leads Joey King, Jacob Elordi and Joel Courtney, while she herself provides mentoring from the OG “Queen of Rom-Coms”: Molly Ringwald.

The legendary Brat Pack star of the 80s was “the best” according to Courtney.

“She was just one of the most exciting people on set because she’s like the queen of the rom-coms back then,” Courtney told E! News about the collaboration with the Pretty in Pink alum. “Having her on set felt a bit like handing over the baton generation from Molly to Joey. It was such a fun experience to hear their stories, hear their talk, hear their wisdom, like their thought process, they work process actors , it was just so surreal. ”

Courtney and Ringwald are expected to team up again for the thriller “Pursued by The Kissing Booth 3”, which is now streamed on Netflix.
