When it comes to honoring someone who has passed away, it can be done in many ways, and while the intent seems pure to most, the people on the Innanet always seem to have a differencethese in the mind. Last night, Kid Cudi had shocked some people when he wore a floral dress when he appeared on “Saturday Night Live” while performing “Sad People”. Instead of focusing on his musical skills, people instead focused on his clothes.
Cudi, walking to the beat of his own drum, had several people wondering what the reason for wearing the dress was. Today he decided to share a couple of tweets about why he went for last night’s look. Cudi revealed that the dress was designed by Virgil Abloh, CEO of fashion brand Off-White, and that the look was dedicated to the late Kurt Cobain from Nirvana. That tribute came just as the anniversary of Kurt’s death had passed. Some fans were familiar with Kurt, who wore a floral dress on a cover of former British magazine ‘The Face’ in 1994. This is the year he passed away in his Seattle home.
Cudi tweeted: “Virgil designed this dress for me. I told him I wanted to show Kurt and love this man in a floral print sundress and made a masterpiece. Thank you, Virgil. You are a fucking genius !! I love you man we did it !!! “The news didn’t stop there. Cudi also announced that the two would do a fashion collaboration. He tweeted, “I’m doing a collection with Off-White and the dress will be included !!”
In addition to his tweets, Cudi also retweeted fans showing him the love for Kurt’s honor. One of the tweets said: “He curtsied! At the end of his fuck set, @KidCudi Fucking curtsied in his dress! I love him so much.”
