Buckingham Palace launched a press release in response to Prince Harry & Meghan Markle’s interview with Oprah Winfrey
As many of you know, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s highly anticipated interview with Oprah Winfrey aired last Sunday, and the interview was an opportunity for viewers to hear from the couple as they talked about what they are as members the royal family went through.
There were many things that shocked people. One of these was Meghan Markle claiming someone in the family had voiced their concern about how dark their son Archie’s skin would be before he was born. Like Oprah, many viewers were shocked to hear this from Meghan. However, both Meghan and Harry decided not to reveal which family member had these concerns.
As we previously reported, Harry announced that neither his grandmother nor grandfather had raised any concerns about his son’s skin color.
Buckingham Palace has been silent since the interview debuted. However, on Tuesday they released a statement on behalf of the Queen stating: “The issues raised, particularly those of race, are related. While some memories can vary, they are taken very seriously and addressed privately by the family. “

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s interview with Oprah came not too long after it was revealed they would not be returning as working members of the royal family. Prior to that decision, it was announced last year that they would be stepping back as they “worked to become financially independent while fully supporting Her Majesty the Queen”.
Other topics discussed during Harry and Meghan’s interview with Oprah were Harry’s current relationship with his family since they retired, Meghan shared her previous suicidal thoughts, and the couple also revealed that they are expecting a little girl.
