Secret records reveal that Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) was working on a coup plan that would have undone Biden’s 2020 victory and kept Trump in the White House.
MSNBC’s The Beat With Ari Melber played the Cruz tapes:
In the first part of the volume, Cruz advocates blocking the certification of the election: “I think the country deserves a credible assessment of these claims and the evidence. And the mechanism to enforce that is denial of certification on May 6th.
The second part of the tape revealed that after confirmation of the election was blocked, Cruz and the Republicans set up a sham commission to uncover voter fraud and determine that Donald Trump would be inaugurated for a second term.
Fox’s Maria Bartiromo asks Cruz who would be privy to. and he replied, “It would be the findings of this commission and what they find, and if they find credible evidence of fraud undermining confidence in the election results in a particular state, they would report it.”
Former Trump attorney John Eastman campaigned unsuccessfully in court to cover up his email correspondence with Ted Cruz, so there were several indications that Senator Cruz was more deeply involved in the attempted coup than he was willing to admit.
If Special Counsel Jack Smith hasn’t been investigating members of Congress for their possible role in Trump’s coup plot, the Cruz tapes seem like an excellent place to start.
There is evidence on tape that a US Senator was involved in a conspiracy to overthrow a presidential election. The question now is what will law enforcement do about it?
