The Washington Post reported:

U.S. intelligence officials were skeptical about an Iranian death threat against President Donald Trump that was relayed by Israel and triggered an extraordinary covert maneuver in which he secretly flew from Turkey on an alternative military aircraft, current and former U.S. officials familiar with the intelligence said.

The death threat was passed from the Israeli government to the CIA, where analysts did not consider the information convincing and conveyed that skepticism to Trump administration officials, one of the officials said.

Another official called the reports of threats against Trump’s life “of Israeli origin, not US-generated and viewed as lacking credibility.”
