ROY HENSON

Roy Henson, 56, of Tijeras passed away on Feb. 9, 2010. Roy was born in Detroit, Mich. on Oct. 7, 1953, to Milford and Marie Henson. He has lived in Tijeras for the past five years, having formally lived in Alaska. Roy was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Palmer and Milford Jr.; and sister, Dolly. He is survived by his wife Lori Wolfe; brothers, Jack, Paul, Jimmy, Danny and Rex; and sister, Jewel Frisani.

JOHN (JUAN) A. GONZALES

John (Juan) A. Gonzales, went into the hands of our Lord on Feb. 12, 2010, after a long battle with Parkinson's. John was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth, and his son Estevan. He was born and raised on La Aguapa Ranch on March 8, 1920. He married Ruth Tafoya in 1941 and had 10 children. Eventually he raised cattle and was the original thing, a cowboy. John was an extremely hard-working man. As a trucker, he worked for Albuquerque Gravel, JW Jones Construction, Henry Tiger & Son Construction, Wylie Brothers and was also self-employed. A rosary was held Feb. 15 at San Antonito Mission Church. The funeral mass was at San Antonito Mission Church on Tuesday, Feb. 16, with Father Granito presiding. He is survived by nine children including John Jr. and wife Cecilia, Dolores Valencia and husband Patricio, Raymond and wife Sylvia, Virginia, Sal and wife Ramona, Kathye Trujillo and husband Willie, David and wife Susan, Charla and Lillian; 25 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

MAGDALENA PINO MONTOYA

Magdalena Pino Montoya, 94, of Moriarty passed away in Albuquerque on Sunday, Feb. 14, 2010. Mae was born March 25, 1915, at Montoya Ranch to Miguel and Guadalupe (Chavez) Pino. Mae lived at the Montoya Ranch all of her life, 94 years and 11 months. She married Manuel Montoya on Feb. 13, 1940, who preceded her in death on Oct. 19, 1982, and together they raised nine children. Mae attended Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Moriarty where she was an honorary member of the Altar Society. She was a member of the Sociedad del Sagrado Corazon de Jesus in Galisteo. She was a member of the Honorary Chapter Farmer of the Vocational Future Farmers of America, and Camp Mima's Summer Camp for Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren and Friends. Mae was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers, Daniel Pino, Pablo Pino and Jose Pino; three sisters, Concha Chaves, Stephanita Pino and Maria Ana Montoya; grandson, Chace Montoya, infant daughter, Guadalupe; and son-in-laws, Ross Saiz and Marlow Knorr. She is survived by her sons, Facundo and his wife, Leigh Montoya; Fred Montoya; Fidel Montoya; Leroy and his wife, Jennifer Montoya; and Michael and his wife, Julie Montoya; daughters, Juanita Saiz, Betty Knorr, Many Ann and her husband, Sid Strohl; and Lucy and her husband, Geoff McCurry; grandchildren, Casey Ingram, Herman Knorr, Arturo Pacheco, Miguel Pacheco, Marcelino Pacheco, Britt Montoya, Cori Krol, Jillian McCurry, Mallory McCurry, Jacob Strohl, Jon Strohl and Manuel Montoya; and seven great-grandchildren, Kylea Ingram, Audrian Knorr, Kenyon Knorr, Dominic Pacheco, Leah Pacheco, Tucker Montoya and Troy Montoya. There was a public viewing on Feb. 16 at Harris-Hanlon Mortuary in Moriarty. Rosary was also Tuesday, Feb. 16, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Moriarty. Mass was celebrated Wednesday, Feb. 17, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. William officiating. Burial followed the Mass at Montoya Ranch Family Cemetery. Pallbearers were grandsons Casey Ingram, Arturo Pacheco, Miguel Pacheco, Marcelino Pacheco, Herman Knorr, and Jacob Strohl. MARIE A. WRIGHT

Marie A. Wright, 86, resident of Tijeras, passed away, after a long illness, on Sunday, Feb. 14, 2010. She is survived by her husband, Haskel Wright Sr.; four children, Allen Moreland and wife La June, Timothy Moreland and wife Priscilla, Jayma Conway, and Haskel Wright Jr. and wife Cynthia; five grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Marie was preceded in death by her first husband, Max Curtis Moreland in 1952 and her grandson, Thomas Moreland. She was born in Puyallup, Wash., on Nov. 22, 1923. She and her mother moved to Carlsbad in 1947 where she met and married Max Moreland. After his death, she met her current husband, Haskel. They were married on June 13, 1953. In 1969 they moved their family to Albuquerque. Marie was a lifetime member of the Lutheran Church and, most recently, a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Edgewood. She was an avid flower gardener and enjoyed sewing, crocheting and spending time with her cats. She and her husband Haskel loved to travel in their RV. Marie's favorite travel destination was Alaska and the Northwest Territories, British Columbia. Above all, her greatest love was her children and grandchildren. Friends may visit French, Lomas location, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 18. A memorial service will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Edgewood at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 20.
